What is the Illinois Council of Convention & Visitor Bureaus (ICCVB)?

The mission of ICCVB is to enable the members to be more effective and more efficient in attracting visitors to their communities by providing educational opportunities which raises the level of professionalism in the travel industry and provides a forum for networking and cooperative action between the members.

Our purpose is to provide a forum for the exchange of information between members and provide opportunities for cooperative action which will enhance the growth of the travel industry in Illinois. Please scroll down to learn what we do, what we provide, and types of membership available.

 What We Do

Working together with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Bureau of Tourism, ICCVB delivers the following to its members and partners:

  1. A common voice for tourism
  2. A forum to alert members to trends and changes in the tourism industry
  3. Opportunities for cooperative action
  4. An environment for the exchange of information and ideas between members
  5. A medium for educational opportunities for members
  6. A strong communication link between the Illinois Bureau of Tourism and the Convention Bureaus
  7. A central source for legislative information and issues
  8. Sales and promotional initiatives to enhance efforts in group tour, convention and sports markets
  9. A clearinghouse for effective communication and the promotion of tourism
  10. Opportunities to communicate and network with industry public and private partners

ICCVB Provides

  1. A forum for exchange of information and ideas between members
  2. Opportunities for cooperative action
  3. A strong communication link between IBOT and local CVBs
  4. Educational opportunities for members to raise the level of professionalism in the travel industry
  5. A common voice for tourism
  6. A forum to alert members to trends and changes in the tourism industry
  7. A central source for legislative information and issues (as a benefit of membership, ICCVB hires a lobbyist to be in front of all tourism legislation and initiatives)
  8. An opportunity to enhance the level of legislative awareness of tourism
  9. ICCVB initiatives to enhance your efforts in group tour, convention & sports markets
  10. A Clearinghouse for effective communication and promotion of tourism
  11. Opportunities to communicate and network with industry public and private partner

Types of Membership

  • Regular – Must be a certified CVB in Illinois. Membership is with the organization and the CEO is listed as the primary contact. Additional personnel may be added as Regular Member Employees at no additional cost. Annual dues are based on your total annual budget, including state grant.
       $1,600 - Budget under $200,000; $2,500 - Budget $200,000-$499,000; $3500 - Budget $500,000-$999,000; $5500- Budget over $1 Million; $6500- Budget over $2 million
  • Affiliated – Must be a non-certified CVB. Membership is with the organization and the CEO is listed as the primary contact. Additional personnel may be added as Affiliated Member Employees at no additional cost. Annual dues are based on your total annual budget.
       $4000 - Budget under $200,000; $6,500 - Budget $200,000-$499,000; $8000- Budget $500,000-$999,000; $10,000- Budget over $1 Million; $12,000- Budget over $2 million
  • Allied – Available to State Agencies in Illinois whose mission aligns with ICCVB, or an entity/company that offer products and services related to the tourism, hospitality, or destination marketing organization industry. Annual dues are $1000.

Note on Membership: If you are a Regular or Affiliated member and would like to add additional personnel from your company as Employee Members, you can do so through your organization's login page.  Or, please contact the ICCVB Office at [email protected] or 309.807.9200.  Be sure to include whether or not you would like these individuals to receive information related to our Niche Committees: F&A, Market Illinois, Meet in Illinois, Sports Illinois, or Tour Illinois.
